Manuel Sobrinho Simões

 

Professor of pathological anatomy at the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Porto and Head of Service at the University Hospital of São João since 1988.
He is currently director of IPATIMUP (Institute of Pathology and Molecular Immunology of the University of Porto).

In 2015, was chosen, by the British magazine "The Patologist", like the most influential pathologist of the world.

He has received several national and international awards throughout his career. Of particular note is the 1996 Bordalo Prize, attributed to its Research Group, the Seiva Prize and the Pessoa Prize, both in 2002.
